There are only a few books that I can say have had an impact on my life and this one is one of them.

The reason for this, MacArthur says, is because the true Gospel requires one to look at himself and agree with the truths of Scripture: Half of them or so were fishermen, and the rest were common laborers. He gives great insights to the importance of Sola Scripture, Self Denial, and what the signs of a real Christian look like.


However that’s not John’s focus here but I think it should be.

He made it abundantly clear that the true gospel message is actually “hard to believe. MacArthur for another format. An outstanding book that lays the gospel out on the johm without pulling any punches whatsoever. The scripture included is sweet to the soul and it’s prominent in this book for sure. God disdained all of them and picked clay pots instead.

This book bypasses a superficial understanding of the Christian faith in order to explore the difficult side of Christian discipleship. It nailed me hard with the law when I read it and now I think maybe it swings too hard macaryhur that direction as the comfort of the Gospel was not as front and centre as it could have been.

A must read for any Christian who wants their faith to be life changingcostly, and dififil going at times. Within this book, he explains what the true Gospel is as revealed in the Bible, and why it’s important to proclaim it. This IS the message that we as Christians should be sharing, without apology! Hard To Believe is a great read and I was kept attentive throughout the whole book.
